Barbie has proven to not only be a great American icon for all generations but also a brand that has withstood the test of time. From dolls to film to clothes and accessories Barbie transformed a small doll collection into a billion dollar company making it the #1 doll in the world. Starting during MBFW in September, Mattel-Inc. is set to launch a collection of Barbie inspired accessories and apparel, taking inspiration from Barbie’s clothing throughout the decades. With major department stores like Lord & Taylor evoking the more conservative 50’s and 60’s, Wildfox hitting the eighties and Forever 21 channeling the 90’s this new collection is sure to keep Barbie at its number one position. First at bat is Forever 21 launching its 29 piece collection September 5. The collection will consist of outer wear, cosmetics, sleepwear and accessories ranging from $3.90-24.90. On September14 Lord and Taylor launches their 12 piece sleepwear collection ranging from $32-46, targeting a slightly older customer. Finally November 15 marks the launch date of WildFox’s vintage inspired outfits channeling Malibu Barbie in the 80’s. nd_26866

It’s not uncommon for singers and actors to come out with their own fragrances. What separates the self proclaimed Bad Gal and allows her to have such longevity in the fragrance industry is the fact that her success as an artist has crossed over internationally creating a huge following not only her music but for her as a brand. This is not always the case for many celebrities. When Rihanna first entered the fragrance industry she initially wanted to create a men’s fragrance. Now this September she will be launching the new Rouge Men’s fragrance in over 800 stores worldwide with an estimated $10 million in sales the first year. The fragrance is a blend of vanilla orchid, black pepper, rosemary, cedar wood, Tonka bean, amber, patchouli, sandalwood, clementine and jasmine that is sure to spice up any man. Check out the campaign with RiRi and model Daniel Ness.
