The long awaited CaraxDKNY collection finally made its debut!! 22 years old super model Cara Delevingne launched her 24 piece clothing collection at DKNY flagship store on Madison Ave. and in Bloomingdales on 59th and Lexington. Cara served face, and abs, as she conducted interviews for Teen VOGUE, socialized with fans, took pictures and even danced around with the other super models including the DJ, who just so happens to be one of the models in the DKNY campaign and her BFF. Dozens of teeny boppers (even their parents) spilled into the DKNY store location to purchase, take pictures and to be among the first customers in the country to view the collection. The first 50 clients were awarded a medium sized Cara tote as well as an autographed picture from the Cara campaign. There were also plenty of goodies throughout the store. Male models were present at the event to cater Cupcakes by Melissa, chocolate and vanilla milk shakes and butter cookies with Cara’s face on them. I chatted and took a few pics with a couple of the models from the ad, who was also there supporting Cara’s line. The collection, ranging from $70 for a beanie to $355 for a pair pants, were selling off the shelves. The sporty crop tops, tank tops, body suits, sports bras and leather pants are a great depiction of the corky models personality and style. Check out a few pictures from this afternoon at DKNY.

Finally, models from the 2000’s Saskia de Brauw, Tao Okamoto, Malgosia Bela, Mariacarla Boscono and Natasha Poly make an appearance. If you are a follower of fashion model icons this is definitely a keepsake for your archives.
Even if you are not afforded the privilege of spectating at the Lincoln Center during New York Fashion Week, you can still catch fashionistas from near and far hitting the pavement with fashions straight from the catwalk to the sidewalk. It’s always a joy seeing Fashion Week street style during this festive week. I caught up with a couple of fashion forward individuals at the Angela Simmons Electric Daze event on Tuesday. Designer O’Brian Madison attended the event, certainly catching my attention, as both he and his companion worked the room in custom pieces from his collection. More of O’Brian Madison’s pieces can be found on his website www.jmadisonbyobrianmadison.com. Another piece that stood out at this event was a pair of KTZ pants by Sasko Bezovski. His collection is sure to add a unique flare to any wardrobe as it did for this daring individual. You can check out more from Sasko Bezovski’s awesome collection at www.kokontozai.co.uk.
I was able to run into world renown super model, owner of The Bailey Agency and Real Housewives of Atlanta star Cynthia Bailey. Cynthia signed autographs and stopped to take pictures with awaiting fans and designer Cesar Galindo. Accompanying Cynthia were a few models from the Bailey Agency. I was able to catch up with a few of the Page Parkes models backstage at the Cesar Galindo fashion show before things got hectic. For many it was their first time modeling during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week for others like model Emily Matheny it was just another day at the office. Nevertheless all of these young ladies were amped and ready to hit the stage to showcase their beauty.
Raven Forrester is name you are sure to hear one day in the fashion industry. The Trinidadian native was first signed to a modeling agency at the tender age of 11. Raven has been featured in Custom Street Bike Magazine, graced the runways at different shows in the greater Houston and San Antonio area and has done numerous high fashion photo-shoots in the state of Texas. She brings not only a unique and gentle look to high fashion, but she also entails an honest opinion of what life is like in her world. I was able to snag an exclusive interview with Raven and I have to admit it was not hard to be drawn to her outgoing and genuine personality.
