Cat Ear Hat Trend

 Cat in the Hat

Fall and Winter have always been my favorite times of year. My mother use to always say, “That’s how you know who can really dress”. And if you really think about it, it’s kind of true. The spring and summer months are effortless. Throw on a maxi dress and flip flops and you’re out the door. But the fall and winter, that’s the time to get creative with layering and accessories. The right scarf, hat or gloves could be just the thing to set off an entire ensemble and create a new trend. This fall we’re seeing many trends such as the wide brim hat make reappearance, but the new must have accessory is the Cat Ear hat. Many celebrities have embraced their inner kitty and put their own twist on this trend. Let’s not forget when the Queen B slayyyyed in her Givenchy kitty hat and ensemble during the On the Run Tour this past summer. Yessss B!!!!

But if you’re like me, I can’t afford to wear Givenchy on a daily bases so I’m forced to find a more price conscious alternative. Forever21 just released a beanie version of this hot trend for as low as $9.90. Even the Kardashians put their own spin on the cat ear releasing a kitty sleeper suit by WildFox Couture for under $100.

This hat is a fun and easy piece to add a little pizzazz to any ensemble. Try it with a sleek pair of sequin pants, cardigan and a cute pointed toe pump when you’re heading out for drinks with the girls or a night out on the town. Perfect for day to night.

Not only is it a great staple for your wardrobe that can be dressed up or down, but it’s a practical enough fashion statement that will keep you warm while your strutting the catwalk aka the sidewalk. What spin can you fashionistas put on the new trend?

Gucci Celebrates the dubut of GUCCI COSMETICS

On June 4, 2014 Gucci celebrated the launch of its long-awaited make up line, Gucci Cosmetics, in New York City with a private cocktail party in honor of Charlotte Casiraghi. The event, hosted by Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini, took place at The Carlyle hotel.

That evening, the new cosmetics line was unveiled. Set to officially launch in September 2014, the collection includes Gucci Eye, Gucci Face, Gucci Lip, Gucci Nail and preparation products for the skin.

“For me, beauty and fashion are always connected. One doesn’t exist without the other. Make up is a key element of the Gucci runway show – it helps communicate the essence of the Gucci woman. Eyes, skin, lips – they’re like accessories, all working together to create an unmistakable look,” said Frida Giannini.

Ready to Wear MUST READ!!!!!!

Ready to Wear MUST READ!!!!!!

If it’s one thing I have learned about being in the fashion industry and living in New York is that it’s very important to keep a few ready to wear ensembles and accessories hanging in your closet. You never know what to expect in the city that never sleeps. Last minute client meeting and social networking events are only a few occasions that will require you to be out the door at a moment’s notice. Ready to wear ensembles will almost always come in handy when you either have absolutely nothing to wear or when you’re in a rush to pull an outfit together. It’s better to have a few for different occasions; corporate, casual and one glamorous ensemble. Be sure to know your essentials and stock up on them. When shopping for your personal wardrobe, don’t forget the basics! These include white and black blouses, a little black dress, high heels, diamond studs, blue jeans, your favorite shade of lipstick and anything else that is a major staple in your wardrobe. Remember, these looks are timeless so investing in certain items that are more expensive but higher in quality may be wiser because they will last longer.

NYFW 2014 Street Style

NYFW 2014 Street Style

Even if you are not afforded the privilege of spectating at the Lincoln Center during New York Fashion Week, you can still catch fashionistas from near and far hitting the pavement with fashions straight from the catwalk to the sidewalk. It’s always a joy seeing Fashion Week street style during this festive week. I caught up with a couple of fashion forward individuals at the Angela Simmons Electric Daze event on Tuesday. Designer O’Brian Madison attended the event, certainly catching my attention, as both he and his companion worked the room in custom pieces from his collection. More of O’Brian Madison’s pieces can be found on his website Another piece that stood out at this event was a pair of KTZ pants by Sasko Bezovski. His collection is sure to add a unique flare to any wardrobe as it did for this daring individual. You can check out more from Sasko Bezovski’s awesome collection at
